Abstract Guidelines

All work related to research, program data and good practices can be submitted for consideration as an oral presentation or poster. When submitting an abstract follow the instructions below:

  • Maximum 500 words

  • Times new roman font 12

  • Spacing; 1.5

  • Fully Justified



The abstract should have the following sections:

  • Title

  • Authorship and affiliation

  • Background/introduction

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Conclusion/recommendations

  • Up to five key words

Successful abstracts should relate to the conference theme and fall under one of the following sub-themes:

1.       Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health and Nutrition

2.      Communicable Diseases, including surgical conditions

3.      Non-Communicable Diseases

4.      Disease Outbreaks and Epidemic Control

5.      Biomedical Science

6.      Health Promotion, Social Determinants, Environmental Health, Primary Health Care, and Community Health

7.      Human Resources for Health

8.      Essential Drugs and Medical Supplies

9.      Health Infrastructure and Equipment

10.    Health Information Systems

11.    Health Care Financing

12.   Health Systems Leadership and Governance

13.    Health Service Delivery

14.    Novel/Innovative/Discovery Health Research

15.    Traditional, Complementary, and Alternative Medicine
